A Clear NHS Career Strategy

01

Band Eligibility Assessment

We review your qualifications, experience, and registration status against NHS Agenda for Change Band descriptors to confirm which Bands you are genuinely eligible for right now.

02

Specialty & Role Mapping

Beyond Band, we identify which specialties and role types best match your background so you're not applying randomly across NHS Jobs but strategically targeting roles where you're a strong candidate.

03

Gap Analysis

What's currently stopping you from reaching your target Band? We identify the specific qualification gaps, experience gaps, or evidence gaps and tell you exactly how to address each one.

04

12-Month Action Plan

A written roadmap: what to apply for now, what CPD to prioritise, what experience to accumulate, and realistic timelines for reaching your target Band.

05

NHS Jobs Search Strategy

How to use NHS Jobs effectively — keyword search, job alert setup, geography targeting, and identifying which Trusts are actively recruiting in your specialty.

06

Honest Reality Check

If your expectations are misaligned with your current profile, we tell you — constructively, with a clear path forward. Applying for Band 7 with Band 4 experience wastes everyone's time.

Band Targeting Questions

I'm an overseas nurse which Band should I apply for?
This depends on your NMC registration status, years of post-registration experience, and specialty. Most internationally qualified nurses start at Band 5 once NMC-registered. Some with extensive specialist or senior experience may qualify for Band 6. We assess your specific profile and give you a clear, honest recommendation.
Can I jump two Bands at once?
Occasionally, but it requires exceptional evidence of the higher Band's competencies. It's more common in non-clinical and admin/management roles where Band boundaries are less rigid. We assess your specific situation honestly rather than giving a blanket answer.
What if I'm not sure what specialty to work in?
This is common and perfectly fine at early career stages. We look at your transferable skills, interests, and the NHS labour market to help you identify 2–3 specialties worth exploring — with honest information about working conditions, progression, and current vacancies in each.
